Reflections on the moive

We watched a movie"Pay it forward" on this Thursday. The story is very simple: Simon Eugene is a sociology teacher who is good at organising his life. Arlene Mckechnie is a single mother. In order to raise her son Terry, she tries her best to work day and night, and alcohol is her only" hobby".All these changed on that day when Eugene gave all his students a special homework: to make the world more beautiful. Terry determined to do something by himself, because he believed that if he did good things for others, he would gain good things as return. He wanted to help three people and told them to help other three people and love will deliver by this way. So he invited the homeless tramps to his house... Under Terry's influence, people gradually tended to agree Terry's idea from the first suspicion. Everyone was surprised to find that when they showed kindness to others they are in love at the same time, and the world can really become more beautiful.
Although I don't like the outcome of this movie, although there are no handsome or beautiful actors, I still think it is a wonderful movie, because I can learn many things from this story which make me think my life deeply. Everyone can do something even a little to change our world, and we can realize our values through this way. Perhaps our world will really change by what we do.
At last, I will never forget the main tag line of this movie: when someone does you a big favor, don't pay it back...pay it forward!

  1. After watching the film, I was also deeply moved. Just the same feeling as Amazing Grace, the movie I introduced to you last time. They all give me a same kind of feeling that is the warm in humanity. From my perspect of view, this kind of movies gives us hope to the world. When we see the bad things, we should still hold the tiny hope with us. I remember I have read a sentence: the paradise is beautiful, although the world is not perfect, but i still love it. Just like an unperfect thing, you still love it. Never give up the hope to this world. this beautiful world.

    1. I have the same feeling with you. Although it is just a movie which cannot be realized in our real world, but I think it tells us how to enlarge your value, just like what you say , our world can never be perfect, however,if we all have the hope and learn how to love each other, our world can be more beautiful.

    1. yes, the ending is not as good as what we expect before. But I think the most important thing is that this movie tells that everyone can help our world go forward even a small step.

  3. though the ending may be sad, i think the situation that a lot of people come to his house to memerize his death is very moving. And i hope all of us can spread the opinion and try to do good to others to let our worlds more beautiful

  4. The ending of the movie was quite sad and unexpected. But I think it is just because of the sad ending that makes the movie thought-provoking.It reminded me of a popular song.‘If everyone can contribute a piece of love, the world will become a paradise’

    1. All of us cannot forget the incredible ending. However, we will remember the theme" pay it forward" at the same time. "Love" can not only change your life but also our world.

  5. I feel sorry about the ending either.Trevor is such a sweet boy with the most touching kindness, who shouldn't be wiped out of the world. It's cruel.

    1. Do not only focus on the ending, because the boy's kindness which can affect more and more people will be remembered forever.

  6. I think that Tianhang has highlighted something very important, that 'everyone can do something, even a little, to change our world'. Too many times, we think that it's not worth doing something because one person's effort is too little to make a difference. But I think it's important to think the other way: if we don't do the thing we know it's good to do, then we are just adding to the many others who are not doing anything about the problem either; whereas if we do something about it, we are then adding our efforts to the collective pool of people trying to make that particular problem a little smaller. After all, many drops will eventually make a difference.
