Some good thoughts

Listening to others can always bring us many brilliant thoughts through which we can observe our world from different angles. Below I will introduce two stories that have left me thinking a lot.

The first motto is “If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail.” I got this from the chief trainer of our service program. To prove its validity, he taught us a game. It’s like checkers and Tower of Hanoi that we have to move three boys and three girls to their opposite side. The first person who tried this game didn’t think too much before making his move, and undoubtedly he failed. The next person had gained experience from the first one and planned before he went to the stage, so solve the problem easily. Some people may hold the opinion that if we plan everything well, we may lack the ability to deal with things emergency. I think when people think like this, they might have some misunderstandings. When people face some problems that are out of anticipation, confidence is the crucial factor whether he will fail or succeed. But the confidence couldn’t be built without foundation. People have confidence because they have enough successful experiences in the situation within anticipation. And planning is of significance in these normal situations.

The second one was from my classmate. When I first talk to him, I think he is a very pessimistic person because he always finds that life is so boring. And I often wondered why he hadn’t killed himself? But after deeper understanding, I gradually realized that in contrast to my old opinion, he is a fairly optimistic person. Once when we had lunch together, we were discussing about the worm in our meal for my roommates had once told me that he had found a dead worm in our meal. And when I asked for his suggestion, he told me a story. When he was young, he can eat food that provided by his own family because they owned some land. So he often encountered some worms in the meal because some worms were not easy to be washed off. At that time, his father would tell him “Think it in a nice way. This dish used to be only vegetables. But now, with worms, it contains some meat and more protein.” So consider your experience in a positive way, our world will be splendid and brave that you have never imagined.

Talk to more people and mark their sayings. Through which you can view our life in different eyes. It’s like being hit by an apple from the tree; you can discover the new idea which you think never exists.

  1. It is good to listen to different though from different people. However, I think it is more important to learn to think and choose what is more suitable for us~

  2. I agree with the second one that we should be optimistic to everything that we may meet during our life, but I think a planned life is very boring and just like in the 1970th in china, everything was planned, and then china failed.

  3. It's right to emphazise the improtance of both listening and talking more to different people. We cannot live without any one above. And what I am pondering is the ratio of how much to say and how much to listen. We need both.
