Why Chinese people are crazy about owning a car

Why Chinese people are crazy about owning a car

In class, our tutor has mentioned that Singaporeans are now very crazy about owning a car even it means they have to pay nearly $78,000 in advance to buy a certificate. Actually, this also happens in China and many reasons contribute to it.

To begin with, in China especially in those bustling cities it may be difficult for people to make use of the public transportation. According to my nine-day experience in Beijing, it was so crowded on the platform and in the train that I was pushed out of the train door when it was not my destination. When this happens to working people who are in formal dress, they may become sloppily dressed in the end. Furthermore, this crowded situation adds much chance to crimes such as stealing some important objects. People will not so alerted because everyone is so close to each other and they have to pay attention to their appearance. Avoiding thong is one of the most important reasons to buy a car.

Then I want to mention that many people have a sense that it has been a noble symbol if you own a car. Though it is unreasonable but it really becomes a “common sense”, what is more, the type of cars you own can and the decorations in your car reflect your style to some extent. Cars have become another way for people to compare themselves with others and get a feeling of satisfaction.

The third one is just like what has been mentioned in a reading comprehension, a car can be our friend along with a safe and cozy shelter. Living at present leaves people a lot of burden and pressure, sometimes, they may feel very insure and be dying for comfort and protect. In this case, the small but suitable volume of a car can provide them such feelings. With its strong ironed hull, it can calm people down and be happy to sit in it in order to withdraw from the high-stressed society for a while.

In my opinion, wanting to have a car is not only a fad but going to be a fashion. What we need to do is to think twice before we make a choice to buy it since the cost will not be easy to afford.
